From the very beginning, coaching focuses on what clients want. People come to coaching because they want things to be different. They are looking for a change or they have an important goal to reach. People come to coaching for many individual reasons. They are motivated to achieve specific goals: to write a book, to start a business, to have a healthier body. They come to coaching in order to be more effective or satisfied at work. They hire a coach because they want to create more order and balance in their lives. Sometimes people want more from life – more peace of mind, more simplicity, more joy – and sometimes they want less – less confusion, less stress, less financial pressure. Whatever the individual reason, it all starts with the client.
Organizations hire coaches as they want their best employees to stay with them longer and be great managers and not micromanagers. Their best employees are great workers and productive but may not be the best leaders and managers because of poor people-skills etc. They expect that coaching can open dialogues, identify weak areas and help the coach work with the coachee towards this and thereby transform their employees into the best managers etc. On the other hand, employees may come directly to coaches to help them with certain issues or trouble areas that’s hampering their progress and productivity at work.
Think of this process as Personal Counselling….just add professional to it and that’s what executive coaching is all about. It’s a relationship built on trust between coach and coachee. Benefits are exponential and they are lifelong tools to have in the tool box. To sum up, Coaching is a partnership that creatively inspires thought-provoking processes thereby enhancing personal and professional potentials. Let’s do this together!
